Ladies and Gentlemen,
Welcome to the all-new, all-different Stand-UpComics.com! I've been working on this for over a year, and it's finally ready to go. I'm going to run down a few of the new features really quickly.
Themes! The site is designed to allow me to change it's look by creating theme packs. What that means for you is the site can change for different holidays or events. At the moment, the site changes themes depending on whether or not the store is open (all the neon lights up when the store is open).
Blogs! You'll soon be able to read blogs by Eric, Pat, the Unshaven Guys, and Me. Each blog also has an associated RSS feed so you can track new posts. My blog will deal with the development of the site. I'll post ideas to get your feedback, and let you know when I've changed something. Which brings me to my next point...
Comments! Yes, you can leave comments on blog posts. Go ahead and sign up for a free account and start posting. If you like a blog post, you can share it on Facebook using the share button to the right. One note: I'm still fine-tuning the spam catcher, so if your comment gets spam-filtered, rest assured that I'm monitoring spam and will release it from the filter as soon as I can.
NOTE: If you had an account for SUCCESS on the old site, you'll need to make a new account to leave comments. When the new SUCCESS is running, you will be able to link your user account to your subscriber account.
Profile! You can make a brief profile so other users can get to know you. Profiles are edited by viewing your account after logging in.
BBCode! Your comments can be formatted using BBcode (any HTML is automatically removed). The most commonly used BBCode appear as buttons over the comments field, but pretty much any BBCode can be used.
Now, some things are missing from the site. Live shows are gone, as we don't host them regularly anymore. SUCCESS is still down, but I have come up with a way to link the site to out POS. It will just take me a lot of time to get it working, and it'll be a little different than before. Not bad, just different.
There are still a few things on my list that will be showing up soon, but I'll detail those in a later post. Until then, if you find anything wrong with the new site, please e-mail me at
webmaster@stand-upcomics.com and provide as much detail as you can.
As always, thanks for supporting Stand-Up Comics!
