I know this will break your heart, guys, but there is NO NEWS to share this week. Except maybe that Star Trek was awesome. It definitely was awesome.

Well, okay, there's this: this week DC Comics/Vertigo is releasing The Unwritten #1. It's a series about the fictional character Tommy Taylor, a child wizard and the most popular made-up person who ever was, and also about the real Tommy Taylor, the son of the author of the fake Tommy Taylor's books. Except it turns out the real Tommy Taylor doesn't have a birth certificate or a social security number or any of those things that most real people have… so what's the deal? I don't know much about the plot beyond the pitch, but I know that this series is in the hands of Mike Carey and Peter Gross, the amazing creative team behind the Lucifer series (you may also know Carey from his recent Marvel work on X-Men). These guys always, always do fantastic work together. I also know the first issue is 40 pages and is only $1. So if you're looking for some new comic to get into, give this book a try! If you buy the first issue and you really don't like it, I'll give you a dollar back. Really.
