The Short of It:
1. ZEKE IS HUNGRY!
2. Halloween wrap-up
3. Blackest Night promotional lantern rings
4. New This Wednesday
1. You're probably wondering why I'm sending out our usual e-mail a
day early. Or maybe you're not. But I'll tell you anyway! A couple of
our good friends have created a zombie-themed webcomic named Zeke is
Hungry and their site went live today with their first strip! So if
you've got a minute, head over to www.zekeishungry.com and check it
out! Bookmark their page while you're at it; they'll be updating every
day this week and twice a week afterwards.
AND to celebrate the launch of Zeke is Hungry, we're hosting a launch
party at the shop tonight starting at 7:00 PM. There'll be food,
games, and Zeke merchandise plus, of course, a chance to talk to the
creators (and a chance to wish one of them a happy birthday!).
2. Speaking of parties, thanks to everyone who attended our Halloween
party on Saturday. We have a handful of entries into our yearly
costume contest and we need YOUR help to decide who wins. Head over to
our Facebook page (www.facebook.com/standupcomicslansing) and look at
our most recent photo album; the pictures with the most "likes" will
win prizes!
3. Starting this Wednesday, you'll all have a chance to complete your
collection of Lantern rings courtesy of DC Comics. Every week in
November, one or two different rings will be released to the public.
Each ring is connected to a Blackest Night tie-in comic that's
released in the same week. This week the lucky book is Doom Patrol #4.
Every person who purchases a copy of this book will receive a Yellow
Lantern ring for FREE! I'll be marking the promotional books in the
email every week for easy identification. Don't miss this chance to
get a complete set of Lantern rings, sure to be a valuable and cool
collectable!
